Whoops! I always call First Wave by the wrong name (yeah, Farscape). I wish the two had not premiered together.
Nommy, the last four eps of Farscape will probably be run again before the new season starts. SciFi Channel is good for that. (I hope so, anyway, since I missed the third of the four episodes).
Nommy and Jandy, you don't like Jules Verne? I think it's great! I think the plot needs a bit of work as it tends to meander, but I love the characterization and the sets. The actors are perfect, not too young at all. It's already become something I look forward to on Fridays. (Unlike Black Scorpion which I refuse to watch another ep of.)

I find that Voyager usually has at least 4 or 5 really worthwhile episodes a season, about as many that are worth wasting the time to watch and the other half of the season, just doesn't draw much interest from me. I try to watch all of them 'cause ya never know when one of the really good ones may pop up. The previous two modern series of ST I really watched religiously. Maybe B5 improved our scifi pallets so much, that Voyager never stood a chance with Die-Hard Scifi fans. Would any of us have looked forward to it each week say 10 years ago. Although this is it's 7th year, so don't know how much water that theory holds.

Did anyone catch this weeks Voyager. I think it's a 2 hour one I missed most of the first half and didn't get to focus on it until about the last 20 minutes (although I did see bits and pieces of almost an hour of it)
The Hirogen (The hunter race)apparently somehow got Hologram technology (equal to the Dr.) from Voyager and they were hunting the Holograms they created from that technology. The holograms rebelled and became the hunters.
It was a Dr. intensive episode without the slapstick silliness you usually see in them. It looked really good and I believe the female Cardassianhologram was played by Worf's first wife (Susie Plakson?).
Lot's of moral issues in this, probably the best episode in quite a while for Voyager. Maybe the rest of the season will be this good, since they're nearing the end of the series.
If it re-runs on Sunday as it usually does, I'm making a point of trying to watch it or tape it then. Anyone who sees Voyager later in the week than Wednesday, oughta check it out

Sindatur, that was a re-run. I have to admit, though, that I'm not in synch with the current season's episode run. I remember one episode that I think comes after this (timeline-wise) where the doctor has a serious mental issue over his existance, started in part with this episode, with Herogin's development of advanced holograms.
Overall, it does stretch the question...what is real, sentient life?

Berman Confirms Trek V Bits Rick Berman--who is creating the fifth Star Trek television show with partner Brannon Braga--told free-lance SF columnist Ian Spelling that the show will differ from more recent Trek series. "It's closer in tone to [The Next Generation] or the original series than either [Deep Space Nine] or Voyager," Berman told Spelling. "It takes place in a different time than any other Star Trek series to date. We'll have seven regular characters, five of them human, two of them not. We'll also have a kick-ass spaceship. I wish I could tell you more, but I can't."
Spelling reported that sets for the top-secret show have been built and that it's
already well into preproduction. The plan is to shoot a two-hour premiere and perhaps one other episode before impending writers' and actors' strikes this spring, with an eye to a fall debut on UPN.
"What Brannon and I will be doing on Series V is trying to bring in as many new voices as we can, in terms of directors, new writers and new elements of design, whether it's costumes or makeup or sets or music," Berman said. "We are trying to put together a younger, less-experienced-in-Star-Trek team of people, to give this show a completely new feel and look. We want this to be not your father's Star Trek, so to speak."
More Trek V Rumors Leak
The SyFy World Web site is disputing rumors about the upcoming fifth Star Trek series, but adds its own rumors about the show's setting. Based on its own anonymous source, the site reported that the new series will
indeed take place on a starship called the Enterprise. But the site also disputed reports, which first appeared on the TrekToday Web site, that the new series will take place in the 22nd century or that it will include a Vulcan character named T'Pau. Rather, SyFy reported rumors that the series
will take place about 100 years after the time of the original Star Trek, or in the
25th century, and that one of the crew members will be Romulan.
The site also reported rumors that the new starship, to be created in part by Enterprise-E designer John Eaves, will appear without the traditional nacelles and will resemble Deep Space Nine's Defiant or Voyager's Relativity. Filming of the fifth Trek series is expected to commence in April or early May, with an eye to a fall release, the site added.
Anybody have any idea what channel UPN would be on in Sacramento, CA? I'm in the process of moving here and can't seem to find it. Also what night and time would Star Trek Voyager be on? I'm accustomed to seeing it Wednesdays at 9pm, but it didn't seem to be there. After 7 year of semi-regular viewing, I'd hate to miss the end.

As far as I know, the new episodes are broadcast Wednesdays at 9:00 PM, local time. In the case of KMAX, though, they're also broadcasting the NBA Playoffs (Sacramento Kings are in it), so they're rebroadcasting the episode on Saturday, May 5th at 11:00 AM and again at 9:00 PM PDT. That link has links to UPN affiliate web pages, where you can get further information as needed.

Paramount confirmed the rumored casting of Scott Bakula as Capt. Jonathan Archer in its upcoming fifth Star Trek series, now officially called Enterprise. The May 10 announcement described Bakula's character as "a physical and intensely curious captain with a bold personality" who has a strong sense of duty but is also a bit of a renegade.
The announcement is the first official confirmation of the highly anticipated show's name and casting, which have been the subject of weeks of rumors. "Obviously, I love the genre and am a long-time fan of Star Trek," Bakula said in a statement. "I am also thrilled to be working on a TV series again with Kerry McCluggage and Garry Hart, a relationship that dates back to 1988 with Quantum Leap." Bakula is best known to SF fans for his five seasons as Sam Beckett on Quantum Leap, for which he earned a Golden Globe and four Emmy nominations, Paramount announced.
"We couldn't be happier," Enterprise co-creator and executive producer Rick Berman said in a statement. "Scott personifies the charm and intelligence that the role calls for."
Other Enterprise cast members include Jolene Blalock, John Billingsley, Linda Park, Anthony Montgomery, Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer, the Hollywood trade papers reported.
No announcement has been made about the network on which Enterprise will run, but UPN is expected to add it to its fall schedule.
Well, I saw the season finale and thought it was pretty good.
Considering time paradoxes, I thought that the sacrifice of the Admiral was warranted. She tricked the sh*t out of the Borg Queen. What I dont understand is why the Borg did not touch Voyager when they first encountered the ship in the Nebula. Was it because of what the queen told Seven of Nine? She left Voyager alone becuase 7 was her favorite drone? Out of all those Minllions, 7 was her favorite? Go figure.
I immensly enjoyed watching the destruction of the queen as well as the chaos that ensued.
We got to remember that this was a 2 hour TV program, not a full length feature film. (It probably should have been).
Karina complained because she wanted to see what happened next to the crew when they got home. Ovbiously, they got to play7 in the fireworks, as seen in the opening.

Oh yeah, one last thing...Im glad Chakoty & Seven go together. Cool!

No gripes, Nommy. I liked it. Also thought the romance at the end was a nice touch.
As for why the Queen left Voyager alone, if we take what she said to 7 as fact, there may have been some truth in it. The Queen was capable of emotions. This is something the rest of the Borg are totally without. When she spoke to 7 she was very close and intimate in her body language. I think she had more than a normal superior- subordinate feeling for 7of9.
I liked the episode too Nommy, and would of enjoyed it even more if they showed more of the crew's homecoming.
Now, we'll just have to wait and see how the new series, "Enterprise", will turnout.

I didn't get to see it, no UPN in my room here. But Blair Grey did record it for his Grey owl hubby, so I'll see it in a couple weeks when we're settled, just so long as we don't lose the tape in the move, LOL. But by all means, keep those spoilers coming.
Absom, Regarding The Borg Queen and 7 of 9: I thought I noticed that with the last couple meetings between 7 and the other actress that played the Borg Queen previous episodes. I'll bet it's a real treat to see Alice Krige doing it again.
Well, it was all solved in the last 10 minutes...again. I liked the armor plating effect that the Voyager got. I never did like the Borg and their superior weaponry. The end, though, I agree; there should have been some planetside scenes at the time, not 30 some odd years later. And, the whole finale had a bit of TNG's "All good things..." in it. No Q, fortunately. But there was the time travel to save the past, and the unsuspected surprise relationship development (Troi and Worf, 7/9 and Chakote). Overall, though, better than a *yawn*.
